The assumed dispositions are indispensable also in our case, in order to make it possible for the repressed element to associatively gain control over the desired name and take it along into the repression.

The repressed thought gains power only when it has a motive, when it needs / wants to be repressed. However hard to tell when there is a will for repression. Will this be linked to other pathologies regarding memory loss? Or the inability to remember?
