As far as his second goal, Schwartz hopes that our greater understanding of the lipostat will soon fulfill its promise to prevent and reverse obesity in humans. For me, this goal doesn’t seem very far off, but, as Schwartz cautions, “that’s what I thought when they discovered NPY.”
