In Asia it starts with Japan and South Korea, with which the US has long had formal security treaties and military bases galore, Singapore, where its naval vessels have basing rights, Thailand, New Zealand, Australia and the Philippines, and it has a surprisingly close (though informal) relationship with Vietnam, given the recent history of war.
