Look, Martin, the point of the trials is to make sure that you know what you’re doing and that you can be trusted. Phillip has lived with you and trained you, and he says you’re okay. We all met you last night and you didn’t set off anybody’s warning bells, so, you’re in.” Martin sat down on the edge of the round table. He didn’t know if he was more relieved or angry. “So it was all a lie?”
