Ten years before, he hadn’t been looking for those opportunities because he had been focused on keeping the culture the same and feared that growth would inevitably lead to its dilution. What he’d learned was that the real threat to the culture was not dilution but stagnation, which could be avoided by taking advantage of the opportunities created by growth to continually improve the culture.
