There are three simple steps for defeating strong dullness. The first step is to recognize its presence and rouse your mind out of it using an appropriate antidote. This can be a challenge. When the dullness is deep enough, to the point that you’re drowsy, you will have no introspective awareness to alert you to the problem. You only realize there’s dullness after you find yourself nodding off, snoring, or dreaming. If this happens, try to wake yourself up completely.
