If you pretend that you know what you are doing, a large group of people will blindly follow you. And, if you are cute enough, you can get away with stealing.
Grown-ups are mostly lying pieces of shit.
So instead of trying and failing to fit in based on something as trivial as clothing, I embraced what I had at my disposal.
People ate that shit up. My lack of giving a damn was somehow interpreted as being a casual,
Because, remember, if you are confident enough, idiots will blindly follow you.
Being a little damaged does not make someone broken. It just means they have better stories to tell and cooler scars.
No one is less human than anyone else. It was an invaluable lesson I took with me throughout my life. The president of any corporation I’ve worked for gets the exact same smile and greeting as the janitor who mops the building’s floors. Do me a personal favor and try this in your life. You have no idea how much it’ll mean to
someone who too often feels invisible. Everyone just wants to feel seen.
No matter what your circumstance, if you provide kids with creative ammunition, they will blast holes into an oppressive reality and conceive limitless worlds.
There are some people that no matter how heinous their actions will always find a way to rationalize them.
“Life is like a wheel. Some days you’re on top and some days you’re on the bottom. What’s the fucking difference?”
Being comfortable with myself meant not needing the approval of others to build my confidence.
What I wish for anyone reading this who feels even the slightest worry that something could be wrong inside of them is that you find the strength to talk to someone about it.
Just taking the time to put your mental health first, acknowledging that it deserves respect and care, and accepting help when you need it, can save your life. You are worth saving. And you are not alone.
When you are at your lowest, there really is nowhere else to go but up.
The desire to fit in is basically resigning oneself to the comfort of inferiority.
When you finally live out your biggest dream, the next step must always be: Dream bigger.
Using this logic, the next time my guy does the dishes I will quietly lurk behind him, scream directly into his eardrum, and then run away into the night.
When you can accept and be proud of your flaws, they will become your greatest strengths.
No man was going to complete me. I was a complete person all on my own.
When looks fade, and your only value is your mind, will you still be beautiful? I figured out early on that investing in my heart, my personality, my mind, and my soul was going to be the key to success.
Trying to please everyone will appeal to no one.
