Lean startup is derived from Toyota’s production system, also known as lean manufacturing. Taiichi Ohno, the father of lean thinking, worked with Eiji Toyoda at Toyota in postwar Japan to create a system to maximize value, make efficient use of limited capital, and eliminate waste.
