I like this.

With Will in mind, I taped my favorite Thomas Merton quote on the refrigerator: “The beginning of love is the will to let those we love be perfectly themselves, the resolution not to twist them to fit our own image.”

I like this.

“So, I love you because the entire universe conspired to help me find you.”

To my wife.

Every spring the mountains echo with the mechanical roar of motorcycles. I imagine it’s fun for the bikers, but it isn’t much of a pleasure for those who enjoy quiet. When they are here for a week every year, I often wonder how the wildlife handles the noise, how much it disturbs them. But I think I already know.

The older i get, the less i enjoy loud noises.
