Ray was physically back to normal by the end of the week, but he still wasn't sleeping well. Alec had apologetically explained that breastfeeding could make a huge different to a pup's health and Ray wasn't going to short-charge them, whatever he felt about parenthood; they hadn't asked to be born either and didn't deserve anything but the best. Life was going to be hard enough as it was for some of them: the girls were very likely to be omegas themselves when they grew up, for one thing. They would at least get to choose a mate—Ray would make sure of that—but it was still no joke.
