yes so true. there does seem to be deep grief for Humanity here, maybe in a general sense. maybe he Thinks she's pregnant, maybe he Knows she's pregnant. idk why i was so convinced at 17 that she was pregnant, but in some ways, i think that it's a pretty good reading of what's going on in this scene. her failing is about him, and not really about her at all, until he realizes that she's conspiring against him. i don't think it's very convincing that there isn't a turn somewhere in this scene (in that ophelia is working with hamlet); straightforwardly, he knows from the beginning, but i think it brings a lot humanity to Hamlet and Ophelia, and also Hamlet-and-Ophelia, if he begins mournful and not angry in a general sense and is legitmately thinks he's saving her from something.
