Declan wondered how such a short-lived animal—the Lynch family—could have left such an impression on him. The day would come upon him soon when he’d lived longer without it than with it, and yet the memories still owned him thoroughly.
Reminded of a similar quote about grief. How one day you’ll outlive the amount of years you had and yet even then the memories and feelings are still just as strong. Really stuck out to me and love that Declan could be so relatable in this moment.
