Love is fresh, relationship depends upon the past and is very limited. The moment you declare that I have a particular relationship with somebody, you already have a concept in mind.
“Lovers die and on their corpses husband and wife are born.”
the moment it becomes a relationship, love is gone. Now, there will be expectations, now there will be a definite code of conduct.
Love is not duty. Love is absolute Freedom. In your Freedom, you Love. You are not compelled to love.
The society does not want lovers. It wants husbands and wives.
a father can never be happy with a son. An individual can be happy with another individual, not a father with a son.
Have we ever seen our father as an individual? Very difficult and that is why there is so much suffering in our relationships.
Relating is another thing, relationship is totally different
Why can’t you just love and let it be? Don’t raise expectations, let it flow.
That is our misfortune. Strangers, we can look clearly at. But we are so insensitive and so unloving towards our closed ones that we hardly ever look directly, carefully, sharply at their faces.
Why? Because we have experiences with them. “Oh Daddy! I already know him. He comes home every evening. What is new about his face? I have seen his face a billion times. What is there in his face?”
The moment is new, and he deserves that you have a new relationship with him, and not a continuation of the past.
Love and experience do not go together.
Next time when you meet somebody close to you, meet as if you are meeting for the first time.
We remember everything. We are slaves of our memories. This incapacity to forget is a huge burden on the mind.
We live in memories, and experience is memory. If you remember everything that has happened in the relationship in the last ten years, then that relationship is dead. It then really needs revitalization.
Unconditional love means experiencing the bliss of love without any conditions attached, without any reasons.
Love is your own state of mind.
what is meant by ‘unconditional’? Something which will remain unaffected by whatever is happening on the outside, the world.
unconditional love is actually not about reaching out to one or thousands or the entire universe. Unconditional love is actually a movement within. It is a closeness of the mind to its own Source and it is so close that it is unaffected by the situations on the periphery.
If you love a person, condition has already been set. What is the condition? I love a ‘person’.
Love is primarily your own mind.
Generosity does not come from nowhere. It comes when you are full and that feeling of fullness comes only when you have the maximum, the ultimate, in your back pocket.
So, you can now distribute, and distribute without thinking that it would be lessened.
what is primary? The attainment. The generosity is secondary. We often do not have anything and yet try to be generous. This generosity is superficial, it is intended just to have a particular image, to deceive others, and sometimes ourselves.
what has brought you to a stage where you feel that you have not attained? Your own actions, your own beliefs. Give them up. Stop doing what you are doing.
Don’t follow any process. Just humbly accept for once, “Whatsoever I do, will be rotten.” So, cease doing, stop doing. That is all that is needed and you will stop doing only when you really, really feel the need to be peaceful.
Do you know what it means to become unconditional? It means becoming like the trees and the river. “If it is hot we take it, if it is cold we take it. From somewhere a lot of stuff comes, we take it. From somewhere nothing comes, we take it. Plenty of rain, we take it. A long drought, we take it. And not for a moment does my faith quiver. For not a moment do I start having doubts”. That is unconditional Love. Unconditional Love is not about being fair-weather friends with the Lord. “You keep giving me bounties and you are so nice! And don’t give me what I desire, then I’ve had it”.
your interactions with the entire world is nothing but a reflection of what your primary relationship with your own Source is.
If you have no inner connection with your own essence, you cannot love anybody else. You will be a very, very unloving and violent being.
You relationships cannot be good till your relationship with your God is not good. Conversely, if you find that you have a bad relationship with your wife, husband or neighbour, then it means only one thing. Your relationship with the Source is bad.
if you don’t have loyalty to that one master, then you will be condemned to have a billion masters. Everything will have the power to leave you astray.
Anybody will come and influence you. And if anybody can come and influence you, that is a sure enough proof, that you don’t love that one master.
Somebody has thrown a stone at you; it’s not ‘somebody’. It’s the total. It’s the will of the universe. It’s the Source itself who has thrown the stone.
That is unconditional love. Come what may, my intrinsic peace is never disturbed.
This superficial generosity, will it have a limitation to itself after sometime, because there will be fear?
will give and count. You will give and count, “How much have I given and how much am I receiving back?”
Do you understand the difference between creating and building? Mind builds, intelligence creates.
It would always start as Ishq-e-Majazi but its destiny is to dissolve into Ishq-e-Haqiqi. That never happens unfortunately.
Taking different things, letting your mind be subject to differences, is what is called as chaos.
Letting your mind become a victim of differences, is what is called as chaos.
A chaotic mind sees too many things and takes all of them to be independent of each other.
Everything appears so random but it is not actually random. Everything appears so different but nothing is discreet. They are all being governed by a few basic laws and even those laws are not very different, those laws are just one.
Ultimately, most of my relations are driven just by two factors – greed and fear.”
The senses always tell you that there are many, many and many. The senses, whenever they perceive, all that they perceive is differences.
there is something that is always continuing, it cannot be perceived.
you can never perceive silence because silence is ever continuous; it is always a background against all noises. So, at the level of the senses, things are very-very divided and amorphous. Then
whatever the mind is doing, is originating from a single Source. Everything is the manifestation of that Source.
In other words you say, “The Source alone exists.”
When you see that the Source alone exists, even though it manifests itself in a billion forms, this is called Aloneness.
