Every weekend I would call my mom and talk to her. Since I was traveling that Saturday, I decided to call her before getting on the plane. It was Ugadi, New Year’s Day for our region of India. I had not realized that, so my mom reminded me and wished me a happy New Year. It was a brief call since I was late to get to the airport, and we talked briefly about the week and all that was going on.
