When President George W. Bush visited New Delhi in March 2006, he was billed to address a joint session of Parliament. A massive protest by Muslims at Delhi’s Ram Lila grounds forced the government to cancel the event. The Bush-led war on terror cast the US President as the enemy in the minds of Indian Muslims.
