When the First World War came to an end in the year 1918, Adolf Hitler was just a young man of 29 years who was frustrated, bitter and angry over his country’s defeat at the hands of the Allied Powers.
The 1930s came around, and with them, the Great Depression begun. Germany suffered from acute economic crises; the hatred against the Jews grew, with many believing that had Germany won the war, they wouldn’t be in such a sad state at this point.
Hitler joined these men and with his oratorical skills and his charisma, he managed to rise through the ranks far quicker than anyone could have expected out of such a diminutive little man.
Hitler knew his life was in danger; he was a smart and intelligent man who had managed to amass so much power within so short a time with only the help of his own oratorical skill.
Night of the Long Knives; Hitler moved against many members of the SA, including Röhm, and had them all ‘purged’. The killings were carried out by the SS and the Gestapo and the purge strengthened his position twice fold
