The adjective ṭāhor, ‘clean’, and associated words occur 74 times, representing more than one-third of all Old Testament occurrences. The adjective ṭāmē’, ‘unclean’, and cognate terms come 132 times, representing more than half of the total occurrences in the Old Testament.
