But there’s nothing we can do about the past and the future is determined by what we choose to focus our thoughts and actions on right now. You have to focus on the present. That’s where your life is lived.
Scott Phillips liked this
“Focusing on the present not only means you have to stop worrying about the future, but it also means you can’t live in the future,”
“You must be fully committed to the task at hand.
They learned to love the process of competing
with themselves instead of comparing themselves to others.
“It was the process we focused on, not the results. Why? Because we have total control over the process. The results, on the other...

“When you make a commitment to only focusing on the things you have total control over—the effort you give, the attitude you carry, and the process of improving yourself in the present moment—when you focus on only those things and let the results take care of themselves, it’s been my experience that results beyond your wildest dreams tend to follow.”
“Success is not something others can give you,” Wooden said. “True success can only be attained by knowing you did your very best to become the best you’re capable of becoming. That is how I define success. I don’t care what the scoreboard says, what your record ends up being at the end of the season, or what your job title is. If you give your best, you will be a success.”
“If you love what you do, you find a way to turn every obstacle into an opportunity.
1. I focus on only the things I have total control over: my effort and my attitude. 2. I love what I do and I attack each day with joy and enthusiasm.

If you don’t set big, crazy, unreasonable goals, you’ll never know how far you could’ve gone.
To be a leader, you must have the courage to dream big, to commit yourself to those dreams, and to relentlessly pursue those dreams no matter what obstacles you face.
1. I focus on only the things I have total control over: my effort and my attitude. 2. I love what I do and I attack each day with joy and enthusiasm. 3. I dream big and I ignore the naysayers.
And don’t get me wrong, it is important to have a positive attitude. But a positive attitude is about knowing problems will come up and that you have what it takes to overcome them. Too many people think that if you just think positive thoughts, nothing bad will ever happen. Those folks have it all wrong. That’s not positive thinking, that’s wishful thinking. And if you think that way, that you’re entitled to a life where nothing ever goes wrong, you’re going to be blindsided and unprepared when life throws trouble your way.
