Candace loved her mother but she had never felt the bond to her mother that she had felt instantly with Pearl. And, Candace had seen that in Jonah with Jameson. He loved his father and he had liked Jessica, but Jonah and Jameson shared a bond that went far beyond friendship or step-parent and step-son.
