Happy people understand that those who are critical of them are often revealing their own issues. They have self-esteem and self-respect and are quick to admit and forgive their mistakes. They are grateful for what they have. They appreciate and enjoy what is good in their lives. They recognize that the mind is for actual problem-solving, and don't use it to dwell in the past, obsess over the future, or avoid the present. Happy people take responsibility for their mood.
