He investigated the so called accidental death of Armstrong and reported back that it was a suspicious death but for some reason the female he was speaking with and who’s in charge said to squash it since there isn’t sufficient evidence So why even have him investigate it in the first place??

So Kate is a reporter doing a story on the nanobites and Armstrong was going to be her inside lead & that’s why he approached Tom at the party bc Tom is the new hired lawyer and wanted to bring him on into the investigation but all of that failed bc Armstrong was killed in a gas explosion “accident”
