The Devil's Work

The sight of the books calmed her.

Like many families, they were one unexpected bill away from financial disaster.

the flat had felt different, fresher, more like somewhere to come home to than a place where she wrestled a small child, did laundry and cleared up messes.

There was something about the sea that made her feel that her horizons were limitless, that she suddenly had access to the whole world, an escape route.

This quote really resonates with me. I'm longing to look outvand see a great amount of horizon, to feel limitless.

‘Don’t say there’s nothing to tell,’ he said with a big smile. ‘Everyone has a story.’

Not used to dealing with stress? My God! Do you really think being at home with a baby or a toddler all day isn’t stressful? You’re unbelievable. Unbelievable!’
