One of the central concepts around race, communicated over and over again by dominant culture, is that we ought to be colorblind and that talking about race has no place in our society. But two hands work collaboratively in our white supremacist culture, and the “colorblind” hand is just one of them. The other hand of a white supremacist culture deals out highly racialized practices.
