It's Not Like It's a Secret

I begin to understand what writers mean when they say that a character wishes the ground would open up and swallow them whole.

This is such a lazy way of lampshading a cliche, ugh.

I let out the breath I didn’t realize I was holding.

I'm so tired of this phrase

The boys, on the other hand, stare at me like I’m a new animal at the zoo, except for Arjun, who comes over and whispers, “Hey, I heard you got outed this morning!” and puts his fist out for me to bump.
