[Kalki’s Note: In recent times, European scholars who employed themselves in researching the Pallava dynasty did not wish to confer the honour of the Pallava lineage on either North or South India. According to them, a race known as Sagar, from a north-western region beyond India, sought to settle in Kanchi, South India and became the Pallavas. Our own scholars, who had dismissed the ancient theories of our poets, adopted the theories of European scholars as gospel truth, and agreed that the Pallavas were, in fact, foreigners.
