Following the EC’s censure, Salman Khurshid issued statements that apparently challenged the authority of the EC, a constitutional body, and we were confronted with an unusual situation. Contrary to general perception, criticizing the EC is not a violation of the MCC; indeed, the Code does not bar anyone from criticizing the EC.
