A commitment to the engendering Word of God is based upon a “high” view of the threefold Word. First and foremost, Jesus Christ himself is the incarnate Word; second, God’s Word written as Holy Scripture is the trustworthy yet dynamic and explosive witness to God in Jesus Christ; and third, the preaching of the gospel is the Spirit-created event of the Word in the present moment.
