I’ve learned to think carefully, when I’m assembling a team or welcoming a new member, about the entire cast of team members, their wants and desires, stated, unstated, and sometimes unconsciously demonstrated. I consider the strengths and weaknesses of everyone, including myself, and how each might grow or improve. With all this information, I take the traditional project organization structure for the portion of the project I am involved in and I warp it, distort it, and make it conform to the specific individuals involved.
