Not Working

“Never any interest in the main section. Don’t you want to know what’s going on in the world?” He holds up the front page, which looks full of blood and flames. “I know what’s going on: terrorist threats, terrorist attacks, shootings, food shortages, drought, floods, women being raped and killed. No, thank you.”

Maybe I haven’t been working all day in the traditional, office-bound sense, but I’m still a person trying to get somewhere too.

“not everyone can be a hero, or live the dream—we just need to contribute what we can. Pull our weight, earn a living. There’s no shame in that.”
