Compare him to Yeltsin…When, in 1993, he felt the presidential seat begin to rock underneath him, he kept his wits about him and gave orders to fire on the parliament. The Communists had been too sheepish to shoot in ’91…Gorbachev ceded power without any bloodshed. But Yeltsin fired from the tanks. He went into battle. So that’s that…and the people supported him.
