There is a phenomenon amongst us not-so-great people to tear down our heroes after a time and try to bring them down to our level. With the luxury of hindsight and having gained the benefits of their sacrifices, sometimes gained at the cost of their very lives, we look back on some of these great leaders and criticize their sexual orientation or try to redefine their lives through some petty quarrel with a compatriot or some other such nonsense.
