it’s an excellent example of a mission statement: it includes both a direction (improve the web experience…by enabling developers) and a scope limiter (Java tools). Several years later we were having dinner with the team lead, and Fitz told him how thankful we were that he had supported us so strongly in our effort to get the team to write a mission statement.
