Underneath the explicit racial attitudes and behaviors that we can see lie the implicit or unconscious attitudes that we have. The more overt expressions of racism are now mostly condemned in our society, and when such incidents happen people often name them as “appalling” or “unacceptable.” But more covert, subtle, and implicit racial bias continues and is seldom really addressed or exposed.
