Even if we take actions immediately to slow the pace of melting in Antarctica, however, we may already be committed to an additional 1 m (3.3 ft) of global sea level rise during this century. This is in addition to the 1 meter already estimated by the IPCC for this same period. The fact is, we don’t know how to adapt to such a pace.
