His cabinet secretary Fred Dutton asserted that Kennedy behaved “like God, fucking anybody he wants to anytime he feels like it.” British prime minister Harold Macmillan famously quipped that Kennedy spent “half his time thinking about adultery, the other half about secondhand ideas passed on by his advisors.”
