Anita Sarkeesian, the creator of the Tropes vs. Women in Video Games YouTube series, analyzed her own rabid trolls and found that many of them played trolling the way they would play a game. Folks got together and played for “points.” Did you get a reply? How many people got angry with you? Did you make them angry enough to block you? Did they run away from their house? Did you get them to cry? These are all points. Trolling is a game.
