It is my day off, but for the rest of my family, it is a workday and a school day. They are gone by the time I wake up. I make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and pack it in my backpack. I get on my motorcycle and ride for two hours up dirt roads out into the mountains. I find a quiet spot that looks out over some canyons, and I make a small campfire.
