Hongu Valley to the east, one of Nepal’s loveliest, full of alpine lakes and meadows. From here they headed north, crossed another high pass into the Imja Valley, and completed a circuit by returning to Tengboche. This is a route which is now commonly used by commercial expeditions to both Mera and Island Peaks.
