It’s important to remember that what we’re talking about here is not the first wave of disruptive (specialized) AI technology that was characterized in chapter 6. We are talking about a second wave of disruptive AI technology, something that would only arrive if we managed to develop human-level artificial general intelligence. The social, legal, and political challenges of sophisticated specialized AI technology are considerable.
