This fact causes a considerable problem for the Protestant, because it means that modern Protestants may have in some respects a “better” or more accurate Bible than their forebears, while in other respects they may have a “poorer” or less accurate Bible—which in turn means that modern Protestants have either a “more authoritative” final authority or a “less authoritative” final authority than their predecessors.
