Cross-pollination was effective, as members were soon deployed overseas outside their comfort zones. This increase in knowledge sharing and experience enabled us to influence key decision makers and communicate our purpose in a language that everyone understood, rather than what we—SEALs—had all previously relied upon: shooting a tight “group” or wearing cool-guy sunglasses (which we still do, by the way).
