Jenkins Boys start to scuffing their boots on the floor, drowning ’im out. Well, Preacher Burton doesn’t say anything, but the next time he shows up to preach, he unpacks his Bible and lays it on the pulpit. He takes out his pocket watch and puts that beside. Then he pulls out his pistol and sets that down too, and he says: “I come here to preach the Word of the Lord. But if anybody in back wants to make noise—I’ll be happy to send ’im to Hell!”
