Virtuous acts should never be performed with a desire for their fruits. Such a sinful mentality deprives one of the results, as does doubting the efficacy of virtue. Clearly true virtue always has a glorious result. You have seen for yourself the limitless powers of great rishis like Narada and Vyasadeva, which have been acquired through virtue. These rishis declare piety and virtue to be the foremost duty.”
