There in natural fortifications I shall form three lines: one, over the Apennines; two, along the River Po; and three, in the Alps. Also, now that Sicily is gone … we Germans must strengthen our garrisons everywhere in Southern Europe. I am going to send reinforcements to the Balkans, Southern France, and Italy proper.”
