What no one has considered, however, is the reason why the British want to control northwestern Germany. It isn’t so much a desire for territory as it is of fear that the Russian Army will reach the English Channel, either before the Anglo-Americans drive through France, or by attacking through the Anglo-American lines, thereby becoming a new and totally dangerous threat to England in the years to come. The British believe the American president is naive about Stalin’s true motives, the American people themselves uneducated about the realities of international Communism. Once again Great Britain might have to stand alone, against a more terrifying enemy than Hitler.
