At the moment, no one knows the death toll in Hamburg. As we will see, however, the Japanese are so worried by the “firestorm” created by mixing incendiary booms with high-explosive devices—most houses in Japan are made of wood and not the brick and stone found in German cities—that they carefully start tracking down bomb damage in Germany.
