isolation rarely leads to anything good. He knew that to get the support and encouragement he and his wife needed during this difficult time, he’d have to be vulnerable and let people in.
What trial is God bringing into your life for the purpose of equipping you to do his work? What trials are you going through right now that God is using to equip you for future ministry?
not sharing our story leads to isolation.
The heroes of the faith I grew up learning about weren’t heroes because of their stories; they were heroes because they shared their stories.
For so long, I thought God needed my help to make his will happen. But I was tired of playing God. For the past three years, I’d tried to control everything.
occasionally God allows a dream to die so that we can see his power greatly displayed.
He alone could see the future and know the perfect time and the perfect way to answer their prayers.
and when Jesus doesn’t show up like we think he should, we can’t conclude that he doesn’t hear us, that he doesn’t care, or that he doesn’t love us.
he had a plan for our family and it would unfold in his timing, not ours.
God loves using broken people and broken things.
“I know that God has not forgotten me, despite the difficulties I have gone through with my husband.”
She also reminded me that my doubts could be a form of spiritual warfare. Satan would love nothing more than to tear our family apart.
“You should never sacrifice your family for ministry. But you know your family will always make sacrifices for ministry.”
While he doesn’t always answer our prayers the way we would like, God gives us everything we need to abound in the good work he has for us.
even when our situation doesn’t change for the better, we can change for the better.
God wastes nothing.
We can have joy even in the worst circumstances.
good and beautiful things can come from pain.
