Isaiah 55:11 says that God’s Word always does the work he sends it to do: “So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” This can be hard for us to understand because we usually think about doing the work ourselves. But God’s light and truth are like twin homing pigeons. When we’re down, he sends them out to lead us back to him.
