When God Doesn't Fix It: Lessons You Never Wanted to Learn, Truths You Can't Live Without

We’re all just one phone call away from learning the results of a test or the news of an affair, the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, or a thousand other ways our hope can be shattered. In that moment, we think life as we know it is over. The truth is, life, as we’ve yet to know it, has just begun.

Am I going to let my circumstances determine my view of God, or am I going to let God determine how I view my circumstances?

A God who leaves physically sick people to preach the good news to spiritually sick people is a God who cares more about our soul than our body. That is who our God is.

Psalm 43:3: “Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell.”

One of the paradoxes of marriage is that wives want their husbands to be great men. And men want their wives to be great women. But we forget that to be truly great, we have to help our spouses be great. It’s more than wanting our spouses to be successful in life and in their family relationships; it’s that we need to help them succeed in these areas.
