Gimel, Yod, Kaph, and Qoph are pronounced with the back of the tongue. Daleth, Teth, Lamed, Nun, and Tav are pronounced with the tip of the tongue and the throat. Zayin, Samekh, Shin, Resh, and Tsade are pronounced between the teeth, with the tongue rounded and pushed toward the outside.
